Another perk of living at Rockwater: the new Big Rock Quarry bike park and pump track! Rockwater families are already visiting the park and having a blast.
Just a stone’s throw away from Rockwater, this park is sure to be a new favorite for all of our neighbors. For those who don't know, a pump track is a looped sequence of rollers and berms (swoopy, banked turns) for bike riders. It’s designed to maximize momentum, so bikers can ride it with minimal pedaling, making it accessible for all levels of bikers.
Much of bike-handling skills are about muscle memory and practice, so a pump track allows one to roll through a variety of features over and over to build up that muscle memory until it becomes second nature out on the trail. In addition to the slopes, the smooth asphalt surface will make riding a breeze. On top of the pump track, planners envision mountain trails, a bicycle playground, and an amphitheater for events.
